Heartspring offers undergraduate and graduate college students the chance to learn more about working with children with special needs through observation, practicum and non-paid internship opportunities.
Students must have a course requirement to observe in a special education setting, be required to observe a specific therapy, or have a practicum or internship requirement. Those interested must submit a short application to Kristina Baker, Coordinator of Outreach Programs.
Possible observation, practicum and internship opportunities include special education classrooms, specific therapies (physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy), and psychology. Other opportunities including shadowing a Heartspring professional may be arranged on an individual basis.
Contact Kristina Baker to schedule a tour and learn more about fields of educational interest.
